Doll Concepts TM was conceived during the Fall of 1993 stemming from my admiration for Himstedt, the renowned German doll artist. On one of my brisk morning walks down the cobblestone streets of Old Towne Alexandria Virginia in 1983, I was enchanted by one of her creations gazing back at me through a store window. The doll reminded me of myself at play during my youth in Nebraska and Indiana. It was a genuine work of art with a soul, and I knew then that I wanted to create children that would bring the child back into everyone who laid eyes on them.

P3090001Throughout the late eighties, I honed my skills to create porcelain dolls of exquisite craftsmanship that would be passed down through generations and be admired and sought after by collectors. Each dolls is lovingly hand-painted and every detail has been carefully chosen to enhance the personality of the life-like doll. There are no two alike because all children are different.
