PICTURE my DREAM!

KIDSDescription: Today’s children have an opinion, and they expect to be heard. It is all about individualism and self-expression. And a child’s inner thoughts and self worth is inextricably connected to self-expression now more than ever before. If you can recall, individualism was all about your personalized shoes, clothing, belt or even a hand-bag. Or whether you had the designer jeans in a different color than everyone else?

As parents rear their children during the hi-hop generation, children are encouraged to develop an individual style. “Because I said so!” upbringing often rears it’s head in areas that matter most like safety obedience, and no mini-skirts, belly tops or quasi-hutchie wear. As with most things in parenting, it’s about a little compromise and a lot of setting limits.

With this being said, Picture my Dream! will be an aid in directing each child’s individualism and self-expression through art instruction.

Photo14Objective:  A child’s motivation is Picture my Dream!’s main focus and inspiration. The art environment for the student will cultivate ones inner passion through a finished product that will be inspirational, challenging, educational and most of all fun. Through the art curriculum it will inspire a child to be better prepared for adulthood and to create great leaders for future generations.

Will Accomplish: The classroom instructional time will help identify or explore a child’s future career goals through an art project entitled, Picture my Dream!
